Mystical Star gets black type once again in G3 Long Island H.

Cheyenne Stables' Mystical Star got her fourth career stakes-placing in the Grade 3, $150,000 Long Island H. for fillies and mares on Saturday at Aqueduct, beaten just a neck by Starformer.

With Starformer setting a very slow pace of 1:18.13 on the soft turf, Mystical Star came up the inside on the far turn with a courageous move and steadily gained ground on the frontrunner for the entire stretch drive to come up just short.

Mystical Star, a daughter of Awesome Again out of the Capote mare Capture a Star, is now 4-3-0 in 11 starts with earnings of $385,132. Her signature win to date was this past June in the Grade 2 New York H., also at Belmont. The 4-year-old also finished second in the Grade 1 Spinster in October at Keeneland and the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride S. in her stakes debut in March, 2011 at Gulfstream Park.
