Cheyenne Stables' 3-year-old filly Sustainable earned the second stakes-placing of her career on March 15 with a gallant second-place finish in the $100,000 Cicada S. at Aqueduct.

Breaking from the rail in the six-furlong affair, Sustainable chased the speedy Inspired Say Eye for the first three furlongs, then engaged her foe at the top of the lane. Sustainable's stablemate Mamdooha joined the fray shortly thereafter, taking advantage of the early-race duel to set up her winning move. Sustainable battled through the lane to dismiss the pacesetter and have something left to hold off a late move by third-place finisher Alpaca Fina.

Sustainable, a daughter of Forestry-Normandy's Nell, trained by Kiaran McLaughlin, also ran second in the $100,000 Dearly Precious S. Feb. 8 at Aqueduct, has finished second in four of five lifetime starts and has earned $99,500 to date.

Normandy's Nell only other foal to race is Culotte, a 5-year-old mare who is a two-time stakes winner. Normandy's Nell is a half-sister to Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks winner Famous Digger.
